About Us

Ponni Arts has been created in Mamallapuram (Tamil Nadu, South India) by 2 brothers, Mr. Rupakanthan (Mani) and Mr. Devaraj (Deva). They have been running the Ponni Sculpture Gallery (Ponni Arts) in Mamallapuram for the last 20 years.

Mr. Rupakanthan (Mani), the founder of Ponni Arts, has been working in the stone carving sector for about 28 years and is well known and experienced in this field for the nice, accurate and creative designing of various types of traditional statues. He studied sculpture for two years of training in Central Government Skill Development Training and is certified.

Mr. Devaraj (Deva) the younger brother of Mr Rupakanthan (Mani), got a Masters degree at Mamallapuram Government College of Architecture. He has 17 years of experience in designing and carving every type of sculptures.

A team of five more workers cooperate with the 2 brothers to design and make the statues.

This sculpture gallery is situated in the center of Mamallapuram and is run by the two brothers together, as a family business.

The statues designed by Ponni Arts are sold all over India and exported abroad to many customers in France, Russia, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Sril Lanka, Etc..
